Transnational Meetings

As part of the project “Facing Global Challenges: Environmental and Peace Education in Interreligious Cooperation for Teacher Training”, a series of transnational meetings brought together educators and experts from different countries to exchange knowledge, develop innovative approaches, and strengthen international collaboration.

Augsburg, Germany 

June 19–21, 2024

At the first transnational Erasmus+ meeting in Augsburg, partners from across Europe and beyond explored how interreligious education can address global challenges such as sustainability and peace. The focus lay on developing a shared didactic framework for environmental ethics in teacher training. Through academic exchange, practical workshops, and cultural insights, the meeting highlighted religion as a powerful resource for responsibility and cooperation in a global world.

Barcelona, Spain

November 27–29, 2024

At the second transnational Erasmus+ meeting in Barcelona, partners deepened the link between interreligious dialogue and the theme of water as a shared ethical and spiritual resource. The focus was on how universities, religious communities, and civil society can jointly foster ecological awareness and peace. Through academic exchange, field visits, and interfaith dialogue, the meeting highlighted water as a powerful symbol connecting faith, sustainability, and global responsibility.

Tirana, Albania

April 10–13, 2025

At the third transnational Erasmus+ meeting in Tirana, partners explored the role of faith-based actors in promoting environmental responsibility and peace. A key highlight was the interreligious symposium, bringing together representatives of different religious communities to share concrete perspectives on sustainability. Through dialogue, field visits, and symbolic actions, the meeting emphasized interfaith cooperation as a driving force for ecological awareness and social cohesion.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

August 26–28, 2025

At the fourth transnational Erasmus+ meeting in Malaysia, partners focused on climate justice from an interreligious and global perspective. The meeting combined academic exchange with dialogue across religious traditions, highlighting the role of emotions, education, and ethical responsibility in addressing environmental challenges. Through collaboration with universities, research institutes, and faith communities, the meeting strengthened the vision of a transformative, practice-oriented approach to sustainability and peace.
